Today in Gaming - 2/28/11: PlayStation 3 Ban, Half-Minute Hero XBLA

Besides the freedom, which is what made me fall in love with the series in the first place, the thing I like most about Grand Theft Auto is its sense of humor. With the exception of GTA III’s Chatterbox radio station, it’s been the radio commercials that I’ve enjoyed listening to more than anything else when playing a GTA game. (Who will ever forget the Maibatsu Monstrosity?) It looks as if that sense of humor will be returning for the next GTA game, whatever that might be, as some GTA-style parody URLs have been registered by Take-Two.
Today’s highlights:
- 1UP will be liveblogging Nintendo President Satoru Iwata’s GDC keynote on Wednesday at 9am Pacific.
- Imports of the PlayStation 3 have been banned for at least the next 10 days in Europe.
- A Devil May Cry movie is early in development.
- Gaikai has launched, allowing you to play Mass Effect 2 and other games right in your browser.
- Super Meat Boy on 3DS is a possibility.
- Yu Suzuki reiterated that he’d like to bring Shenmue Town to smartphones.
- Lunch at GDC
